Solar Energy Technicians Training
When the foundation start its activities in Ethiopia in 2005, it was so difficult to find training solar technicians. SEF then decided to establish a solar technician training center. The first training centre established in Rema solar village in 2007 and the second one in in bureau zone, close to the capital city Addis Ababa.
Over 62 graduates of 10+2 and 10+3 Tvet College have been trained for six months on solar technology, installation and maintenance. Then recruited as permanent employee of the foundation which means besides serving as knowledge transfer, it also creates job opportunities for many young Ethiopians.
Experts of Energy Sector Training
24 experts selected from energy sectors of the four regions namely Amhara, Tigray, Oromiya and SNNPR, including Ministry of Mines and Energy and Rural Energy Development and Promotion Centre have been trained on solar PV technology.
In the same manner to the technicians’ training, these experts have been trained by Germans solar PV industry practitioners within the purpose of enabling the government sectors play great role in the technology.
Solar Technicians Training
Our solar technicians training center is a pioneer on providing trainings for solar technicians and also different institutions. After solar PV technology is integrated in TVET curriculum, our center is providing trainings to TVET instructors of different schools. Pv installation and maintenance curriculum is prepared by dgs germany and sef financed by ADRA Ethiopia.
